Privacy Policy

Phase is built on a single, simple principle: your most personal data should never leave your device. This privacy policy describes what that means in practice.

What we collect

Nothing. Phase has no server, no account system, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party telemetry. We do not collect, transmit, store, sell, share, or otherwise process any data about you, your behavior, your device, or your health.

What stays on your device

The following data is read locally on your iPhone and used to generate your daily Phase briefing:

• Cycle data from Apple Health (menstrual flow, intermenstrual bleeding, cervical mucus quality)
• Sleep stages from Apple Health
• Heart Rate Variability (HRV) from Apple Health
• Resting Heart Rate from Apple Health
• Workouts from Apple Health
• Your responses during onboarding (work archetype, primary struggle, morning briefing time)
• The briefings we generate for you

All of this is stored in a SwiftData database inside an App Group container on your device. The database file is explicitly excluded from iCloud Backup so it cannot be subpoenaed via cloud services.

On-device AI

Phase uses Apple's Foundation Models framework to generate your morning briefing. This is Apple's on-device large language model — it runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple Intelligence. No prompt and no response is ever sent off your device. Every briefing is generated locally.

Notifications

Phase sends one local notification per day at the time you choose. These notifications are scheduled by UNCalendarNotificationTrigger on your device. They never travel through Apple Push Notification service or any other server.

Widgets

Phase widgets read a small “snapshot” file from an App Group container on your device. They never read HealthKit directly. They never make network requests.

Health data sharing

Phase only reads from Apple Health. It never writes back. It never exports your Health data anywhere.

Children's privacy

Phase is rated 12+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future version of Phase introduces an opt-in feature that involves new data flows), we will note the change in the app's “What's New” notes for that release. We will never silently change the privacy posture.
